Dow 100,000

‘Dow 100,000’ here we come, according to a May 8, 2017 report in The Street. Financial expert Ric Edelman believes this lofty number could be reached by 2030. His core thesis revolves around lower cost investments, retirement occuring much father out and people living past 100.

Falling VIX

Falling, falling, falling…the CBOE VIX index which represents, to many, a proxy for risk, is at its lowest level since 1993, says a May 5, 2017 Bloomberg story. This may suggest a good market for equities as the VIX is seen as an insurance policy against falling markets.

The Theater of the Absurd

In the wake of former interim Attorney General Sally Yates’s testimony before a Senate Judiciary committee, Donald Trump has tweeted that “the Russia-Trump collusion story is a total hoax,” reports a May 8, 2017 article in the The Hill. Yates as a well as James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, testified Monday afternoon about Russia’s attempts to interfere in the United States’ presidential election. Trump pointed out in the article that Director Clapper ‘reiterated what everybody, including the fake media already knows – there is ‘no evidence” of collusion w/ Russia and Trump.”’

Apparently…we are now living in a theater of extremes, and…apparently…of the absurd.
