‘When the curve inverts,’ placing the 2-year treasury yield above the 10-year treasury yield, "there has been a better than two-thirds chance of a recession at some point in the next year and a greater than 98% chance of a recession at some point in the next two years," according to Bespoke, reports CNBC 3/31/2022.
And, we have this Inverted Curve Now!!!
Nevertheless, a "mild recession" is now being projected as a possibility in the U.S. as soon as this year, according to B of A 7/19/2022. A combination of a modest shrinking of the GDP while having decent employment numbers seem to be the catalyst for this “mild recession” view. Further, pundits in August 2022 have now suggested that if republicans take the House of Representatives in a couple of months, this will freeze any new major legislation, an environment the markets have historically liked.
So…. investors, there are more cards to be played out this year….
let us hope voters…
