‘The Fed Raises’

The Federal Reserve bank raises ratesfor the first time in three years, reports Fox News 9/16/2026.  In a 12-0 vote the Fed pushed up the benchmark interest rate by 23 basis points to a target rate of 3.75% to 4%. The Fed stated that their decision was over concerns of stubborn inflation that has been driven recently by higher energy prices.

On the positive side, the Fed also stated that "Economic activity was expanding at a solid pace, with strong productivity growth and robust capital investment.  Fed Chairman, Warsh, specifically noted that private sector earnings and capital investment were areas of strength, adding that ‘he would be hard-pressed to describe broad financial conditions as restrictive.’

In the initial announcement, the broader market pulled back while many of the larger tech names seem to hold their ground.

Therefore, in the days to come…

the question now becomes…

What assets will hold their ground?

and

Where will be the buying opportunities?
