‘The 9th Month…. May Be Over….’

Historically, The Ninth Month of the year is the worst month for the stock market, says Barron’s 9/7/2023. Further, according to Dow Jones Market Data, the S&P 500 has averaged a 1.1% decline in September since 1928. Optimism often disappears at the end of summer, when investors and advisors start looking at the following year’s possible pitfalls. In addition, many believe that September appears to be a time when market participants start to make decisions about what they don’t want to own and what they do want to own 12 months out. This article suggests the worst may be over, pointing to a phenomenon that is occurring right in front of our faces: Market participants are seeing good news as bad news: Specifically, stock Indexes recently fell in response to strong jobs data and awesome earnings. Whaaaa…? This might be a little of the old concept, ‘buy on the rumor and sell on the fact.’

Nevertheless,

many pundits are starting to say this uncomfortable time of the year is actually…

a buying opportunity!!!

So, we’re staying green this season….

and no fall leaves this final quarter of the year?

We Shall See…
