US GDP Growth is Revised Up
US GDP growth is revised up to 3% in the second-quarter, according to FOX Business, 8/30/2017. Growth was the strongest since the first quarter of 2015, with retail sales and business spending data suggesting the economy has stamina. In addition to the strong growth, a labor market that is near full employment suggests the FED will start plans to unwind their $4.2 trillion portfolio of Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed securities and, get this, do this next month, while increasing interest rates in December. Merry Christmas!
“Me Thinks I Smell a Rat,” said Patrick Henry.
The FBI has declined a request for files on Hillary Clinton, siting the ‘Lack of Public Interest,’ says the Daily Wire, 8/30/2017. The FBI’s logic is this: the requesting entity, Ty Clevenger, a New Yok City Lawyer, who requested information under the Freedom of Information Act which included emails exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation, did not sufficiently demonstrate the public’s interest outweighing the personal privacy interest of the subject. And, “me thinks I smell a rat,” said Patrick Henry, the anti-federalist. It seems to fit this occasion.
