On Monday, August 17, 2020, the S&P 500 almost eclipsed its former high back in February of this year, reports CNBC, August 17, 2020.  Looking at the accumulation of equities in the cyclical sector, the article goes on to suggest that this may result in a breakout to new highs. Rotation, Rotation, Rotation….A good sign, some would say…

The Most Dangerous Cities in the USA

The Five most dangerous cities in the USA, according to Travel and Advice, 8/17/2020, are as follows:

St. Louis, MO: Posting 66 homicides per 100,000 people per year.

Detroit, MI: Posting 1,519 aggravated assaults and 104 rapes per 100,000 people per year.

Baltimore, MD: It has 56 homicides per 100 thousand people per year, giving it the second-highest murder rate in the country.

New Orleans, LA: Down from 424 murders in 1994 to 39 murders per 100,000 persons per year, this city was formally called the Murder Capital America.

Memphis, TN: 6300 crimes pers 100 thousand people per year.

Travel and Advise put a cap on these numbers by adding in these words, “Neighborhoods in the US you should avoid. “  Not what their chambers of commerce want to hear….I think.
