According to a 3/4/2016 CNBC report, foreign investors are rushing to place capital into….Iran? Apparently, the UN economic sanctions that were lifted in January are causing a fever over the potential opportunities of doing business with the Middle East’s second largest economy of $400 billion. The article goes on to say that Iran represents the world’s hottest geographic investment opportunity in the last 20 years - all except for the Americans.
Location, Location, Location
According to a CNN report 3/10/2016, the most expensive city in the world is….Singapore. The report sites Singapore’s high transport and utility costs. The top 10 list goes like this: 1. Singapore, 2. Zurich, 3. Hong Kong, 4. Geneva, 5. Paris, 6. London, 7. New York, 8. Copenhagen, 9. Seoul and, finally, 10. Los Angeles.
General Political Reality Show
In the Michigan primary, Sanders, the socialist, beat Clinton; Clinton says she won’t get indicted over emails; Rubio says he would do it differently, concerning his personal attacks on Trump; And, Trump holds a shopping network presentation, only lacking tires, to show his businesses are sound. This, by far, is the best reality show out there.
The Sands of Time
Bloomberg has identified two market moving indicators at the end of this week: The EIA Petroleum Status Report and the Jobless Claims. Oil and Jobs may move the markets…big surprise. You might say, “It’s what’s in the sands of time that count.”
