AUTHOR: TOWNE SCHERER.COM 12/4/2015: Towne Scherer Private Wealth Management BLOG: 140 world leaders gathered in Paris, France at a climate conference, according to CNN, to discuss global warming while reports surfaced from Popular Science that the Antarctic’s ice sheet seems to be growing. After President Obama’s inaugural speech at the conference, Charles Krauthammer said on “Special Report” that Obama connecting terrorism to climate change reveals his idealistic, deluded worldview. Nevertheless, pundits have suggested that Obama’s climate initiatives will result in the redistribution of billions of dollars much the same way as Obamacare. On the economic front, MarketWatch reports that “with job openings nearing a record peak and hiring at an 11-month high, employment gains in November will likely be good enough to allow the Fed to act before year end.” Further, according to CNBC, when a rate hike comes “the bull market will stumble, bond yields will climb and the economy will slip into a recession.” In other words, it may be time to say goodbye to our friendly market momentum and time to seek advice from a financial professional. Now pile this on to the back of a hotly contested presidential election year and we have the makings of a scenario as unpredictable as the weather…unless you’re a world leader attending a Paris conference on the subject.
