Stocks rally after the US captures Venezuelan President Maduro, says Investopedia 1/5/2026. With Healthcare subsidies ending on January 1, a potential rate reduction in the first month of the year and the sudden Venezuelan situation, the market hit an all-time high. In particular, oil stocks led the market on the belief that companies would reap the benefits of rebuilding the Venezuelan oil infrastructure. Further, pundits have suggested that an improvement in Venezuela’s position as 1% of the world’s oil supply could bring down oil prices. This is good news for American companies, for inflation and… the market.
