| June 22, 2015

AUTHOR: TOWNE SCHERER.COM 06/20/2015: Towne Scherer Private Wealth Management BLOG:The Trump card just got played, with Donald Trump announcing his run for the 2016 presidential candidacy, covering subjects from China’s currency manipulation, job creation, toughness with ISIS, Common Core’s incompatibility with being president to building a wall on the country’s border with Mexico as reported by CNN and The Chicago Tribune.  Trump went on to bill himself as the “most successful person ever to run for the presidency, by far,” pointing out “(he) even owns a ‘Gucci store that’s worth more than Romney.’”  Jeb Bush announced, the day before, his run for the presidency, bringing the count of Republican hopefuls to 22 declared candidates, according to Politicks.orgBloomberg also reported Bush’s speech as an ‘exceptionally strong performance.’  On the other side of the isle, Hillary Clinton, gave the biggest speech of her presidential run at Roosevelt Island in New York, where she pitched “a very old liberal economic philosophy,” according to the Washington PostSpeaking of the actual president, “the Obama administration is moving forward with regulations designed to help diversify America’s wealthier neighborhoods, drawing fire from critics who decry the proposal as executive overreach in search of an ‘unrealistic utopia,’” according to an article in The HillThe Hill went on to say government regulations would use grant money as an incentive for communities to build affordable housing in more affluent areas.  Although, at this time, it is unclear how this might affect the real estate market.  In closing, the Dow has become very choppy, reacting to possible interest rate changes, the fate of Greece, battles over Obamacare, the glut of oil, Iran negotiations and the possibility of war.  Perhaps, this is a sign that we’re changing from an environment of ‘you’re fired’ to an environment of ‘you’re hired.’
